How BamGuard processes personal information.

1. Scope and Controller
This Privacy Policy explains how BamGuard collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you use bamguard.com, related websites, dashboards, integrations, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
BamGuard is operated by Leah Alanano, an individual based in the Philippines, under the BamGuard name. For the processing described in this Policy, BamGuard generally acts as the personal information controller. Current postal and contact details are stated in the Legal & Contact Information published on the Website.
2. Information We Process
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following categories of information:
- account and contact information, such as name, email address, company or organization information, country, and communication preferences;
- authentication, device, and security information, such as IP address, browser and device details, login times, request records, account activity, and security events;
- service and configuration information, such as domains, subdomains, certificate information, Certificate Transparency observations, ACME or DNS activity, integration settings, and monitoring events;
- subscription and transaction metadata received from our merchant of record, such as plan, subscription status, customer or order identifiers, invoice information, billing country, and tax-related information; we do not receive or store full payment-card details;
- communications, support requests, complaints, and other information you choose to provide; and
- information obtained from public or third-party sources, including public certificate and Certificate Transparency data.
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information or unnecessary personal information through configuration fields, support messages, or service content.
3. How We Use Information
We process information as reasonably necessary to:
- provide, operate, administer, and support the Service;
- create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- perform monitoring, associate observations with customer configurations, and present service results;
- manage plans, subscriptions, payments, invoices, and account status;
- communicate service, security, billing, legal, and support information;
- respond to requests, complaints, and legal claims;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and functionality; and
- comply with applicable legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, consent, and legitimate interests such as operating, securing, and improving the Service.
4. Marketing Communications
We send marketing or promotional communications only where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted by applicable law. You may unsubscribe through the method provided in the communication or by contacting us.
Security, billing, account, and essential service communications are not marketing messages and may still be sent when necessary.
5. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:
- cloud hosting, infrastructure, authentication, communications, support, and other service providers acting for us;
- our current merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which separately processes checkout, payment, tax, invoicing, refund, fraud-prevention, and chargeback information under its own terms and privacy notice;
- professional advisers, insurers, auditors, and contractors subject to appropriate duties of confidentiality;
- courts, regulators, law-enforcement authorities, or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect rights, security, or users; and
- a buyer, successor, or relevant adviser in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the Service.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Business Customer Data
Where a business customer submits personal information for processing on its behalf, the customer is responsible for having an appropriate legal basis and providing required notices. Where necessary, additional data-processing terms may apply.
7. International Processing
BamGuard is operated from the Philippines and uses service providers and infrastructure that may process information in the Philippines and other countries where they operate.
Where required by applicable law, we use contractual or other appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Data-protection laws in destination countries may differ from those in your country.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining security, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and complying with legal, accounting, tax, and reporting obligations.
Retention periods vary by data type, account status, security needs, and legal requirements. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to reasonable backup cycles and lawful retention requirements.
9. Security
We use reasonable and appropriate technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information. No electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and promptly reporting suspected compromise.
10. Cookies and Browser Storage
BamGuard uses essential cookies and similar browser storage needed for authentication, session security, request protection, and returning users to an intended internal page after authentication.
These technologies are not currently used by BamGuard for third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking. Third-party checkout or authentication pages may use their own cookies under their respective policies.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar technologies, we will update this Policy and request consent where required.
11. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or information about how your personal information is processed.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Rights may be limited where retention or processing is required by law, necessary for security, or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
You may also submit a complaint to the Philippine National Privacy Commission or another competent data-protection authority.
12. Children
The Service is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly permit persons under 18 to create an account.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or interact with third-party websites or services. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy notices, not this Policy.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, law, or processing practices. Material changes will be communicated through the Website, dashboard, email, or another reasonable method where required.
